You’ll have seen this guys name mentioned in the same sentence as many other Premier League clubs so far this summer as yet another young sensation arrives on the scene.
The truth is the 23-year-old is finally getting recognised for his level of consistency having graduated from the PSV Eindhoven academy and cemented himself as a regular in their side.
Gakpo has been heavily linked with a move to Leeds United who are already planning for life without Raphinha as they prepare to get in quick and void off interest from the likes of Arsenal.
The Dutchman had 25 goal contributions from 27 league appearances last season, a record that speaks for itself when hunting for a new attacker who can play in any position comfortably.
Known in the past for being a selling club, PSV Eindhoven would look to cash in on Gakpo quite easily but only for the right price with figures of anywhere up to £50m being bounded around.
The fact he’s in contract until 2026 and not pushing to leave the club puts PSV in an incredibly strong position. Watch this space, this one could go down to the wire!
