The 22-year-old Frenchman managed to bag himself 17 goals and 14 assists across all competitions during the 2021/22 campaign, something that hasn’t gone unnoticed.

And with his contract expiring in 2025, Arsenal would need to pay a fee of around £60m to land the youngsters services, who once again would be giving up Champions League football to make the switch to London.

Having worked his way up from the youth ranks at PSG, Diaby failed to land himself a regular spot in the first team and in 2019 made a move to Germany official.

A left-footed winger who prefers to play on the left hand side would be something Arsenal genuinely don’t have at the moment, and would mean some huge competition for the likes of Smith-Rowe and Martinelli who continue to occupy that area.

And that’s something that could also throw a hiccup to this transfer, with Diaby still earning his badges as a youngster you can question whether he’s right for what Arteta needs.

We know Arteta wants Raphinha, a proven Premier League attacker who at 25 years of age has that little bit more experience than the likes of Arsenal’s current forward options. Does Diaby fill that quota? Perhaps not.
