Deportivo President Reveals They’re Struggling To Re-Sign Lucas Perez

It seems times are changing when it comes to transfer business at Arsenal, with the club now struggling to SELL their players.

Since making the £17million move from Deportivo last summer, Lucas Perez has never really been given a chance to shine in an Arsenal shirt.

Despite being the man to save our blushes up front, the Spaniard couldn’t make his way up the rankings when competing with Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud.

A Champions League hat-trick and some impressive showings in the FA Cup were never enough for him to claim a regular spot in Wenger’s starting XI.

As a result, the 28-year-old has been left out of the Gunner’s pre-season tour in order to sort his future out, with several Spanish clubs eyeing him up.

However, a dream return to Deportivo looks unlikely according to their club President, Tino Fernandez, who sounds like he’s given up on the idea of signing Lucas.

Lucas is at a great club who made a big finanical effort for him, there’s a high level there and also the desire of the club is not to look for an exit.

We’ve spoken to Arsenal, we were interested and we informed them of that, although it’s true that was days ago and other things have happened since then, like the fact he will not be with the team for a few games.

From what I can take from those comments, the desire is there but to match his finances, Lucas would have to take a significant pay-cut to play in La Liga again.

Having swiped his #9 shirt number from him and handed it to Lacazette, it appears Arsenal are ready to let go of the winger, who still has time to rescue his career.
