Petr Cech wants to join Arsenal this summer, according to the reliable Spanish journalist Kike Marin.
Spanish journalist Kike Marin is a very reliable source when it comes to Arsenal news, so it’s definitely worth taking note of this story. Marin suggests that Arsenal want Cech and Cech wants Arsenal, but suggested that Mourinho is still attempting to block a move.
Last week Fresh Arsenal revealed that Arsene Wenger had made signing Cech his transfer priority for the summer and a deal has now seemingly moved a step closer.
Arsenal’s performance in the FA Cup final will have done little to stop Mourinho fearing the Gunners next season, and as long as he views Wenger’s men as a title challenger, he will try and block the transfer.
Mourinho though, might not be able to block a deal. The Portuguese manager has already admitted his influence is limited in negotiations. Many reports have suggested that Cech will be able to choose his new club, and it seems that club is Arsenal.
If Cech really does want to join the Gunners over the likes of Paris Saint Germain, it seems a deal is very possible and perhaps very close.
The signing of Cech would be a significant boost for Arsenal’s title chances next season. He is a world class goalkeeper, and Arsenal have not had one of them since the days of David Seaman. His experience will help on and off the field and he has already won the Premier League, something only Danny Welbeck has done in the current squad.
