There has been more encouragement for Arsenal today in their pursuit of Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech.
Yesterday we reported the news that Cech was set to hold talks with Chelsea with the talks expected to help a move to Arsenal become closer.
Chelsea goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon has spoken out and his words have helped encourage Arsenal fans that a deal is close, he told RMC Sport:
“The advantage of Arsenal, is they are a top club & they have big ambitions.”
“I think he wants to stay in England. I don’t know about discussions.”
“He knows Ligue 1 well. But I think he’s very happy in England.”
On Arsenal he added: “They also have a football philosophy, which Petr likes.”
The Mirror suggest PSG have launched a new lucrative bid for Cech, but the player will decide on his new club. John Cross recently told Arsenal Fan TV that he expected a deal to be completed soon.
Lollichon also backed Cech to continue at the top: “I think he still has 3 or 4 excellent seasons in him.”
Meanwhile on Twitter, a tweet from the fairly reliable ‘Dean’ has sparked more Arsenal fans into joyous anticipation.
Papers love spicing it up but it’s pretty simple. Cech & Arsenal have an agreement. Arsenal will match Chelsea’s price. Just needs sign off.

It does seem like a deal is incredibly close, but when Mourinho is involved I will never get ahead of myself. I will be over the moon if we manage to secure this one.
