Not Benzema. 5 Strikers Arsenal Could Sign This Summer

5. Edinson Cavani

My first choice option! Cavani has endured a frustrating season at PSG. Predominantly played on the wing as with the mercurial Ibrahimovic remains the Parisians first choice in the centre-forward berth. The Uruguayan is a class act and understandably frustrated at playing out of position. With 16 goals in 30 games this season, he will be advertising himself in the shop window at the World Cup. Signed from Napoli for £54m, a stellar performance could see his price tag inflate again. A player who commands respect from opposition defenders would fit in seamlessly at the Emirates and take this current crop of players up another level. The negative? He’d cost as awful lot of money. There are some whispers that Arsene Wenger is preparing to break his transfer record again, and Cavani is one of the few players that would break that £40million record-signing that Arsenal made last summer in Mesut Ozil. An offer of £45million could tempt PSG, who can’t expect a profit on the forward.
