Arsenal Star Desperate To Leave The Club Before The Window Closes

It looks as if the final few days before the window closes could have more to do with outgoing’s than welcoming new players to the club.

That’s because Mathieu Debuchy looks set to be the next Arsenal candidate to lose his place at the club, with the defender reportedly desperate to sort his future within the next seven days.

Get French Football understand that the 31-year-old is pushing for a move away from the Emirates after conceding to the fact that he is no longer good enough to compete.

The likes of Hector Bellerin and Calum Chambers now stand as better options at right full-back and after an unconvincing pre-season the French international is already packing his bags.

Debuchy has failed to appear in the squad, let alone the bench, during Arsenal’s opening Premier League encounters, which pretty much confirms Wenger won’t be needing him.

Whilst that doesn’t come as a surprise to many, it looks as if Debuchy is struggling to find himself a club at this point in time, with nobody entering an advanced stage to gain his services.

Turkish giants Galatassary did seem to have an interest, whilst Roma were also keeping tabs on the full-back, but it seems that’s all it really was and a move will now come down to the final week.

It’s fair to say that Debuchy never really got off the mark at Arsenal, as if replacing his national teammate Bacary Sagna was hard enough he then had to compete with the then up and coming Bellerin.

Injury plagued his early months in the squad which gave a chance for the young Bellerin to shine, and since then there’s been no evidence to suggest we’d be welcoming back Debuchy.

Even when given the opportunity to play football in his country on loan at Bordeaux in the latter stages of last season, his lack of game-time was apparent and he didn’t get the chances he would have wanted.

Reports and sources close to the player are stating that he wants to continue playing football in England, with the Premier League being a priority as he see’s out the final years of his career.
