Arsenal Ready £30m Bid For 16-Goal Dortmund Forward

Despite the struggles the German club have found themselves in this season, the 25-year-old has capped off an impressive year with 16 goals and 6 assists from 33 Bundesliga games. Most of these goals have come when he plays as a centre forward, a position where he has really excelled this season.

Aubameyang joined up with Jurgen Klopp’s side back in 2013, and first attracted interest from some of Europe’s top sides after an eye-opening run of form in the Champions League.

The Gabon international picked up a consolation goal on Dortmund’s final day of the season, as they suffered yet another unexpected 3-1 defeat to Wolfsburg in the German Cup Final.

Sadly that has been a familiar story for the eight-time Bundesliga champions, and with the departure of manager, Jurgen Klopp, Aubameyang is already considering his future.

“For now, the most important thing will be to meet the new coach. I have not yet had the chance to see him, talk with him. It will be decisive, it is for him to tell me if he wants me or not (laughs).” said Aubameyang.

Whether his mind is made up or not, Le10Sport claims there has already been a bid in the process for the striker, which is believed to be in the region of £30million.

The rise in transfer value has been justified by the fact Aubameyang currently has three years left on his contract at Dortmund, but he remained reserved when talking about where his future lies.

“Then I can make a decision (after meeting the new manager) For now, my idea is to stay here again. It would be good for me, for my future.”

Arsene Wenger has proved there is now money to be spent at the club, since the arrivals of both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil cost over £80million respectively.

Arsenal could however face competition from the likes of Real Madrid and Liverpool, who are both on the lookout for a new hit-man following disappointing seasons for both clubs main strikers.

Wenger has been criticised in recent years for failing to invest in a world-class striker, and the Gunners are currently relying on Olivier Giroud as their man to fire in the goals.

But with 30 goals in a Dortmund shirt already, Aubameyang could raise the spirits of Arsenal fans during this summers transfer window, as the Gunners begin to turn their attention to next seasons Premier League title.
