Arsenal Met With World Class Striker’s Agent Yesterday

Arsenal met with Falcao’s agent Jorge Mendes yesterday, according to French media outlet RMC.

Their report suggests Arsenal, Manchester City, Juventus and Real Madrid all held talks with Falcao’s agent Jorge Mendes over the possible transfer of the player from AS Monaco.

Falcao is 28 and could move on loan from Monaco this season. It is believed he wants a move to Madrid, but Arsenal’s interest is reportedly more serious with Madrid ‘closed for business’ this summer. Ancelotti has previously ruled out a move for Falcao.

The Gunners need a striker with Olivier Giroud ruled out until January leaving the inexperienced and goalless Yaya Sanogo as the only natural striker left in the squad.

Arsenal were drawn in a tough Champions League group yesterday which includes Galatasaray, Borussia Dortmund and Anderlecht. It is clear Arsenal need strength in depth upfront to do well in all competitions this season. Falcao would add the world class quality to Arsenal’s frontline that they’ve been missing since that striker left to Manchester United.
