Reports have suggested that Bastia are in talks with Flamini and Arsenal could let him leave for nothing.

The 31 year old’s £50,000 per week wages will prove a sticking point, as could Bastia’s potential relegation to Ligue 2 – although there remains uncertainty on that ruling.

Arsenal are hoping to shift the French midfielder to free up funds for a new midfielder. As it stands, with Mikel Arteta signing a new deal Arsenal cannot really afford to sign another midfielder if they do not manage to sell / release Flamini.

Arsenal fans are desperate for another top level defensive midfielder to join Coquelin as an option in Arsenal’s midfield.

Arsenal will struggle to find many suitors to pay Flamini his £50,000 per week demands, and they look like they will offer him to clubs for free in order to encourage interest. Wenger’s interest has reportedly cooled in Morgan Schneiderlin and there is a lack of other options that we could bring in.

It’s looking like Petr Cech could be the only addition for Arsenal this summer. Is that going to be enough? Comment below with your thoughts.
