Arsenal Fans Fed Up As Lucas Perez Clears Up His Gunners Future

It seems Arsenal fans finally have something in common with the players. Well, that’s certainly the case for Lucas Perez.

The Spaniard has managed just two starts in the Premier League this season, despite being regarded as the saviour the club needed last year.

Arsene Wenger brought Lucas to the Gunners in the very late stages of the transfer window for a respectable £17million, even though nobody had heard of him.

Most of his appearances have come in the cup competitions, having bagged a hat-trick in the Champions League and finding the net against Sutton United.

However, that’s about as good as it’s got for the 28-year-old and a series of minor injuries have left his chances of starting games a distant dream.

Supporters have made their feelings clear on Twitter, with the majority screaming for the forward to be involved in more big games, but Wenger is reluctant to listen.

With his future up in the air, Lucas has since come out to speak with Le Voz de Galacia in the hopes of pushing for a move back to his old club, Deportivo.

This season has been difficult because I think I’ve deserved to play more. I may not have done as well as others, but if they’d have given me more minutes I’d have better numbers.

I’ve spoken to the coach and he admits as much, but he has his own ideas and I respect that. I’d like more chances, I think I deserve them. I’d like to prove that I’ve for the quality to win things with Arsenal.

If the moment comes when I can’t do that any more or if they decide to transfer me, there’s always the option to go back to Deportivo.

There are other clubs who want me, my intention is to play in the Champions League, but in the summer we will see if Deportivo is still an option.

Whilst Wenger knows he’s a good player, it’s not surprising he wants to get more playing time and in a club of this size it’s very difficult to do.

But when you look at Iwobi and Walcott who have both had very dodgy campaigns on the flanks, it’s hard to justify why Lucas wasn’t given a shot.

Arsenal have now got different options in Alexis, Welbeck and Giroud as the centre forwards which means Lucas is bottom of the list when we need someone to call on.

It’s a shame, but Wenger has done this with so many before so it’s not surprising. Podolski, Campbell and Gnabry were all mismanaged in my opinion.
