Arsenal are making a deadline day move for Matija Nastasic according to the Guardian.
The Guardian report: ‘The champions are minded to allow Nastasic to depart and would prefer to see the 21-year-old leave on a permanent basis, rather than a loan deal, as they look to recoup as much money as they can for the defender who cost them £12m back in 2012.’
Verdict: Nastasic is a good defender with the potential to be excellent. He’d be a perfect back up for Koscielny and Mertesacker and we desperately need to sign a defender today. He’s only 21 and has already played at the top level in the Premier League and Champions League. I think signing him would be a great idea.
A move makes sense today, but will Man City sell to Arsenal? They are rivals, but if Arsenal do not sign a striker, perhaps Pellegrini knows that the Gunners are a long way behind his side. Also, the ex-Malaga manager obviously doesn’t rate the defender too highly if he is happy to let him leave.
