Press in the last few days have linked Arsenal to many players, including some from Barcelona. Arsenal of course signed Alexis Sanchez from the Spanish club, but according to press, the Gunners came close to landing three more stars from the club. Read our gallery below to find out who.
1. Pedro
Whilst Arsenal decided to sign the Chilean winger from Barcelona, there original interest appeared to be in Pedro, whom it seemed Barcelona were more willing to part with. This was not actually the case, and although Juventus were favourites, Arsenal managed to get involved in a deal and sign the Chilean for £30million. Pedro would have been a good signing, but Sanchez’s ability to play as a number 9 probably swayed it in the end for Arsene. His impressive showing at the World Cup didn’t see his stock fall much more either. Pedro is 26 and was thought to be on the market this summer for around £20million.
