3. Martin Montoya
Last summer Arsenal were being linked with a move for Montoya. The young right back was widely tipped as Bacary Sagna’s replacement if he did leave the club, then again so was Serge Aurier and look what happened to that. Montoya was due to see out his contract this summer and move on a free transfer, however despite heavy suggestions of a move, the Spanish defender has opted to stay at Barcelona this summer. Anyway Debuchy joined and hopefully he can make us forget about Sagna as quickly as possible.
At the end of the day we signed Alexis Sanchez, and despite coming close to signing the three players in this article (according to reports), we can’t really complain. We have once again taken advantage of a foreign club selling their stars to make room for new ones. Hopefully Sanchez and last years capture Mesut Ozil can create an unstoppable bond in the Gunners midfield, and make us an attacking force to be feared.
