But there will be some certain Arsenal names missing from the roll call when Mikel Arteta begins to prepare for their first pre-season fixture against FC Nurnberg on Friday 8th July.

And whilst many of us are regularly scanning our phone to find out the latest updates on potential moves for Gabriel Jesus and Raphinha, you’d be forgiven to have missed some key activity regarding players moving in the opposite direction.

The Arsenal Adademy have completed five deals this week with players from a variety of age groups looking to head out and spend the 2022/23 campaign picking up more minutes.

We’ve given you a quick rundown on everything you need to know:

1 – Tyreece John-Jules

It feels like a make or break season for John-Jules, who now at 21 years of age can no longer be considered as a ‘breakthrough’ talent in the academy.

The striker will spend the entire season at League One side, Ipswich Town, as he attempts to make up for lost time following injuries that have marred previous opportunities for vital minutes.

Despite regularly training with the Gunners first team, John-Jules is yet to make a senior appearance for the club and has remained a prolific goalscorer with the U18s and U23s as he’s worked his way through the ranks.

Last season saw him take on two loan spells with little to no success, providing just two assists at Blackpool in 12 appearances before switching clubs halfway through the season to try life at Sheffield Wednesday, where he failed to score again in 13 appearances.

If John-Jules is planning to emulate his teammate, Eddie Nketiah, then its clear what he needs to do and has to start doing it quickly. Arteta has shown age doesn’t matter in this game, but you have to take the chances when given to you.
