Arsenal have signed Emiliano Viviano on a 1 year loan deal from Italian club Palermo. The goalkeeper has signed a 1-year loan deal with a £5million option to buy at the end of the season. Arsenal will pay Viviano’s £20,000 per-week wages whilst he spends the year at Arsenal.
Viviano is likely to compete with Szczesny for the number one spot. Fabianski has been actively offered to several clubs in the last week as Arsenal stepped up a hunt for a new goalkeeper but time is running out for the Polish keeper to finalise a move away.
Arsenal have been linked with a whole host of goalkeeper this summer including Espanyol stopper Kiko Casilla, Iker Casilias, Julio Cesar and Asmir Begovic.
Fresh Arsenal first reported that Arsenal were in talks for Viviano on August 27th. We also told you he would have a medical last night.
