Since Christmas, the focal point of Arsenal’s season has been pretty much focused on who will be in charge of the club next season.
Back-to-back losses in December, coupled with some heavy defeats to Chelsea, West Brom and Crystal Palace have left Arsene Wenger’s reputation in tatters.
Along with an early Champions League exit and having the chance of finishing outside the top four, the majority of people connected to the club believe it’s time for him to go.
But when it comes to a change like this, picking someone at random just won’t work and now many Arsenal officials are beginning to identify a replacement.
Following Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Man United, French reporters Telefoot released the news that Leonardo Jardim is being lined up to take over.
Standing as Monaco’s man in charge since 2014, Jardim is targeting his most successful year yet and will now look to end his career in Ligue 1 on a high.
As well as taking his side to the top of the French division, the 42-year-old is also responsible for reaching this year’s Champions League semi-final.
It’s said that the success Monaco have achieved by balancing a good financial structure and ensuring youth come through is what makes him the ideal man.
Jardim has also taken the much talked about Kylian Mbappe through the ranks and it’s believed a move to Arsenal could tempt the youngster to follow.
All signs point to this being a serious target for the Arsenal board to consider, but it’s likely that Wenger will also have a say in who replaces his 21 year reign.
Personally, I think Jardim has been a manager that keeps himself to himself whilst attempting to play attractive football and score goals.
But if we’re dipping back in to the Wenger-shaped mould, will anything really change at this football club?
