Report: Arsenal ‘make move’ to sign their long-term #1 left-winger target

Arsenal are reportedly ready to make their move for Juventus star Kenan Yildiz, with the Gunners expected to either submit an offer or open negotiations for the highly-rated attacker in the coming days.

The update comes from Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who reports that Arsenal have now decided to move forward in their pursuit of the 21-year-old Turkey international.

It represents a potentially significant development in Arsenal’s search for another elite attacker before the transfer window closes. Yildiz has been linked with the Gunners throughout the summer, but previous reports had suggested Juventus were determined to keep one of their most valuable young players.

Arsenal’s interest has seemingly remained despite that stance and, if Tavolieri’s latest information proves correct, the Premier League champions are now prepared to test Juventus’ resolve.

Yildiz would certainly fit the profile Arsenal have been searching for. Predominantly operating from the left, he is comfortable drifting into central areas and could provide Mikel Arteta with a different attacking dimension.

The Gunners’ need for another high-level option on that side of the pitch has become one of the major themes of their summer. Arsenal explored an ambitious move for Vinícius Júnior before the Brazilian looked set to remain with Real Madrid, while other names including Bradley Barcola, Morgan Rogers and Julián Álvarez have also been discussed.

Yildiz could now emerge as one of the most exciting alternatives.

There would, however, be a considerable obstacle to overcome. Juventus only renewed Yildiz’s contract in February, tying him to the Italian giants until 2030, and have made clear how highly they regard him. Recent reports have suggested it could take an enormous offer to convince the Serie A side to reconsider their position.

That makes the next stage particularly interesting. There is a significant difference between Arsenal registering an interest and actually placing a major proposal on the table, but the suggestion that the club has now decided to act indicates this story may be about to accelerate.

From Arsenal’s perspective, Yildiz would also represent more than simply another body in attack. The club have already added Christos Tzolis this summer, but that deal can be viewed as part of the succession planning following Leandro Trossard’s departure. A move for Yildiz would instead look like an attempt to raise the ceiling of Arteta’s attack.

At just 21, he would also arrive with considerable room for further development, potentially giving Arsenal a player capable of becoming a major part of their front line for years.

The question is whether Juventus can actually be persuaded to sell. Yildiz signed a new contract until 2030 earlier this year and the Italian club described that agreement as a strategic investment in a player of outstanding talent, underlining his importance to their long-term plans.

Arsenal may therefore have to produce one of the biggest offers of the summer to change the conversation.

But after weeks of speculation over how the Gunners would respond to missing out on Vinícius, there could finally be movement. If Arsenal really do make an offer for Yildiz in the coming days, their pursuit of a transformative addition on the left wing will suddenly become one of the major stories to watch before the window closes.
