Arsenal’s Dan Crowley will hope it’s second time lucky this season, after joining Go Ahead Eagles on loan for the rest of the campaign.
The 19-year-old joins the Dutch side, who play in the Eredivisie, after a successful trial period that began back in the early weeks of December following a major bump in his season.
For the second time running, Crowley had his loan spell terminated early (this time at Oxford) after it was revealed his behaviour off the pitch was becoming unacceptable.
Whilst the details weren’t ironed out in previous reports, it’s believed the youngster has failed to co-operate with him teammates well and thinks he’s better than the squad he plays for.
Crowley made 11 appearances for Oxford United, six of them coming off the bench and he managed to bag three goals during his very short spell with the League One outfit.
You’ll remember that Crowley’s loan at Barnsley was also cancelled out after Arsenal recalled the player, but again there were question marks raised of his attitude.
So now it looks like an entirely new start for a player that has been likened to Jack Wilshere, and a good run in Holland’s top division should give him enough game time.
You can always pick out players in the youth department that will one day feature in the first team, and Crowley definitely looks like one of them.
If he’s going to follow in the footsteps of Iwobi and Reine-Adelaide then he’s got to start bucking up his ideas and knuckle down to focus on getting the best out of his ability.
