Arsenal face an extremely difficult task on Sunday afternoon. At 12 pm (UK Time) they need to beat Leicester City, a team who have lost just twice this season.
The pressure is all on the Gunners, who will fall 8 points behind the league leaders if they are beaten tomorrow. With that in mind, here’s how I’d like to see Arsenal line up to win the game.
Goalkeeper: Petr Cech
Of course, Petr will keep his place for this one. Another clean sheet would be very, very nice.
Defence: Hector Bellerin, Gabriel Paulista, Laurent Koscielny, Nacho Monreal
The key inclusion here is Gabriel, who I believe must start ahead of Per Mertesacker. Gabriel is in better form and has the better pace, which will allow us to dictate the play, and worry less about Jamie Vardy’s danger on the break.
Midfield: Francis Coquelin, Aaron Ramsey; Joel Campbell, Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez
Coquelin needs to replace Flamini. He’s fit again and Flamini keeps coming up short. It’s essential for Arsenal that Coquelin gets back to his best because at his best he’s an essential part of the starting eleven. Please don’t delay his return any longer Arsene, we can’t afford too. Despite Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s goal, I’d like to see Campbell come back into the starting line up on the right-hand side. He’s full of energy and that will be needed against a Leicester side that won’t take their foot off the throttle all game.
Striker: Theo Walcott
This is a controversial opinion no doubt, but Olivier Giroud has been off form and Walcott caused so many problems for Leicester’s defence the last time the teams met. His pace in behind can cause problems for Robert Huth and Wes Morgan, who may be expecting to face a more physical prospect in Giroud.
