The FA Cup game against Middlesbrough was outstanding with Arsenal playing football at their best.
Towards the end of the first half BT Sport commentator Ian Darke said of Middlesbrough “It really does look like the north face of the Eiger for them.” In the second half we heard “Arsenal bossing this game in a pretty big way so far”. Wojciech Szczesny found himself back in goal but wasn’t really put to the test until the closing minutes.Gabriel Paulista made his debut; we didn’t see much of him except when he claimed his first yellow card wearing an Arsenal shirt. Arsenal played as a team, and played exceptionally well, but it was Olivier Giroud who made the difference to the scoreboard with his brace of goals – scored just 155 seconds apart.
