The closer we get to the opening game of the season, the more players are training not knowing whether they’ll be in an Arsenal shirt for the remainder of the year.

That’s a mental issue that we simply can’t avoid, but the quicker Wenger sorts out who’s off on loan the better, because then we have a united group of players fighting for their spot.

You look at the likes of Mathieu Debuchy who is currently in pre-season training for the Gunners but we all know he’s 90% certain to head out of the exit door this summer.

Having a player around the camp that’s possibly not giving his all can have serious repercussions on the rest of the squad, and everyone can start to relax once futures get resolved.

It may well be a good thing to have people giving their all to fight for a place, but players like Wojciech Szczesny and possibly Joel Campbell should be expecting a new club.

Once the loan spells and permanent deals have gone through we’ll have a better idea of who could be starting where, and most of all whose spot is up for grabs this season.
