3. Olivier Giroud IS Decent
I’ve stood by Giroud time and time again, shrugging off criticism towards him and simply stating ‘just wait and see’. I’m confident that with the players running in behind, Giroud will have a tremendous season- and he gave a hint of what’s to come yesterday.
The main criticisms of Giroud last season were that he squandered big chances but yesterday he had one opportunity, from around 30 odd yards, and did something none of us could imagine.
He shrugged off the defenders and unleashed a dipping shot from distance, that left Manchester City’s new goalkeeper helpless. I make that the perfect conversion rate- one chance, one goal.
Let’s hope Giroud continues in this fashion heading into the new campaign.
