The potential sale of Szczesny is probably the most pivotal of the lot, because this position is an area which needs to be addressed most of all.

For too long Arsenal have had mediocrity and lacked the presence of a world-class goalkeeper in their ranks. The jury was out since Szczesny’s omission from a regular starting place in the first team, in favour of David Ospina.

The Pole has failed to perform at a world-class level on a consistent basis in the 5 years, as Arsenal’s no.1, which is concerning providing the impressive developments of Thibaut Courtois and David De Gea – both of whom are younger than the man in question.

Szczesny has visibly lost a whole lot of confidence, after two unconvincing performances against both Manchester United and Reading in the FA Cup, as well as the many fans and pundits who’ve lost confidence in his ability to be capable no.2.

I’m not alone when I say it’s time we went out and replaced him with a ‘keeper twice his calibre, with Petr Cech the most frequent name being linked with a shock move across the Thames.
