5 Deals Arsenal Are Set To Complete Before The Transfer Window Closes

4 – Calum Chambers

Question marks have been raised as to whether or not the Englishman is ready to make the step up from first-team backup to first-team regular.

A loan spell would serve the defender very well, and it can benefit both him and the club as a whole if Chambers can pick up some regular game time at the highest level.

You have to point the finger at a Premier League side because the physicality in the game is second to none from any other league, and that’s what he needs to work on.

Having started against Liverpool and looking really good in pre-season there’s no doubt that the 21-year-old will one day become a commanding figure in the Arsenal back four.

For now though he just needs to pick up experience and when Arsene Wenger is going out to spend £26million on a centre back you know he’s not willing to give Chambers a chance yet.

Gabriel, Koscielny and soon Mustafi will line up ahead of Chambers so it’ll be difficult for the former Southampton man to fight off competition for a spot.

With the recent arrival of Rob Holding too, you can count on Wenger giving the new boy a chance to adapt to a Premier League team with at least a year in and around the club.

Chambers would be welcomed to any one of our fellow Premier League teams, and he certainly has the qualities to become an England regular when partnering John Stones.
