5 Deals Arsenal Are Set To Complete Before The Transfer Window Closes

2 – Mathieu Debuchy

When it comes to the forgotten men at Arsenal, this guy is sitting pretty at the top of the list and it won’t be long until a move away is confirmed.

I don’t actually think I’ve seen the 32-year-old with a smile on his face all summer, and Bordeaux and Galatassary have been linked with a move for the defender.

What’s the latest?

He wants first team football and the simple fact is that Arsenal can no longer offer him that, with younger options above the Frenchman in the pecking order for the right-back position.

If Wenger wants to get rid of him then why would he wait until January if Mustafi is coming through the door within the next week, there’s just no point.

Arsenal will welcome Carl Jenkinson back within the next month and if Calum Chambers is allowed to stay on he’ll also be an option to cover on the right hand side.

Will we miss him?

The short answer is no. But saying that his experience in the Premier League has probably paid off more than we know when sitting in the changing rooms.

He’s been a superb mentor to Hector Bellerin, so good that the Spaniard came through to take his position and now Debuchy will want a completely fresh start.

Pre-season was a chance for him to show he’s still at the top-level, but after failing to get into the game on multiple occasions he just doesn’t look up for the fight anymore.
