3 – Mauro Icardi
A player that Arsenal fans may not be familiar with but that shouldn’t take any attention away from this being a great signing to reignite the dominance the fans want to see.
Icardi’s wife has already confirmed that Inter Milan will listen to offers for their main striker, who fired the Serie A side to a fourth place finish, narrowly missing out on Champions League football.
So why sell your main man? Well, this is a chance for Roberto Mancini’s side to get rid of their captain and make some much-needed money to fire the club back into a title challenge.
Icardi is a dynamic player that loves to play on the counter attack, something that would do well at the Gunners with the pace of Alexis and through balls of Mesut Ozil being a real attraction.
When it comes to money this is probably the best chance Arsene Wenger has to secure a top forward without breaking the bank, with £15million the asking price last season.
That figure is set to double given his form in 2016/17, but it’s the personal terms of the player that could sway his decision to force an exit and entertain offers from Arsenal and Tottenham.
Now that the North London rivals have bagged Vincent Janssen the pathway is open for Wenger to land Icardi if he feels he’s the right player to partner Giroud.
He’s reportedly felt undervalued by Milan and the ability to partner up and possibly compete with Giroud’s place could be a great way to tempt the Italian this summer.
