Now we’ve all had an opinion on the Olivier Giroud over the years, and at the moment we can’t speak enough about the Frenchman.

He added his 14th Premier League goal to his tally on Saturday afternoon after a stunning strike to kill off any chance of a way back in for Liverpool.

Arsene Wenger stated in his post-match conference that he believes Giroud is now one of the best strikers in the league, but how much of that is true?

When it comes to goal influence, Harry Kane tops the charts with winning his side a total of 22 points in the league, and surely without him the North London rivals would be dead and buried already.

Diego Costa may be the joint top goalscorer in the league, but he has also created 37 chances for his team during the campaign, which is strong evidence to suggest he is the undoubted leader of their attack.

Papiss Cisse leads the ranks for minutes per goal, with it taking the Newcastle man just 92 minutes to find the net each time. Wayne Rooney has put away 78% of clear chances provided, and surprise candidate, Jonathan Walters has the best shot accuracy with 67%.

So there are a few stats to open the eyes to exactly what Giroud has done for the club this season, and whilst his personal record may shine, the goals he is scoring aren’t turning too many heads when it comes to the people collecting the stats.
