After the win at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon, Arsenal lifted themselves straight to second in the Premier League, but secured a first place spot in another very important table.

The Gunners moved to joint top of the European form table, and with a record of seven consecutive wins, it can only be matched by Italian side, Lazio.

Victory over Liverpool also meant the last time Arsenal were beaten at home in the league was back in November, where they lost 2-1 to fellow Champions League hopefuls, Manchester United.

Arsene Wenger is no stranger to having a strong end to the season, which highlights problems and rewards. Arsenal fans have been seeing much of the same in recent years, an exciting end to the season but with little to show for it in May.

This begs the questions as to whether the pre-season fixtures and training camps are really preparing these players for the gritty nature that is the Premier League.
