2. Alexis SĂ¡nchez does not score goals every game
The great man himself (many have referred to SĂ¡nchez as God) has scored goal upon goal upon goal this season. He’s also been pretty hot on the assists front and has saved Arsenal’s bacon on more than one occasion. This time though, SĂ¡nchez just did not score a goal despite his valiant attempts. In the 70th minute SĂ¡nchez came onto the pitch to rest a “fresh back from injury” Theo Walcott. During SĂ¡nchez’s 20 odd minutes on the pitch he had four shots; two shots were on target whilst a third was nearly there. The first on target shot hit the crossbar and the second was saved by the Seagull’s keeper, David Stockdale (who despite letting in three goals did a much better in his job than Wojciech Szczesny). The third shot, taken from a direct free kick flew above the crossbar by a mere 15cm. However, as we all know a miss is as good as mile. Despite SĂ¡nchez’s failure to put the ball in the back of the net he was certainly a force to be reckoned with during his short time on the pitch. Today though, his enthusiasm and effort weren’t enough to get the goal (or two) he so rightly deserved.
