Last night Wojciech Szczesny took it upon himself to make the final half hour far more stressful than it should have been for the Gunners.
4-0 up and completely crusing, the Polish number one came flying out of his goal, got sent off and gave away a penalty.
Perhaps he felt his Colombian mate, David Ospina, deserved some game time in the Champions League. Perhaps he felt he wasn’t really needed against the poor Turkish outfit so decided he’d had enough.
Whatever the reason, there always seems to be something which makes things more complicated than they need to be be. The Emirates faithful will probably dream of a nice, efficient and injury free home win.
But where’s the fun in that? That’s not the Arsenal way.
