At 33 years of age, the former Argentinian international is the heart of Newcastle’s defence, and will be the standout man for our struggling strikers to break down.

Coloccini has an overwhelming 225 appearances with the North East club, and in that time has managed five goals so he will be very little trouble for our own defence.

However, what he does bring to the table is an undeniable consistency and commitment to producing strength in the multiple tackles per game he is renowned for.

The man with the armband at St. James’ Park has seen it all with Arsenal’s style of play, and so the typical tika-taka style of football will come as no surprise on Saturday afternoon.

Instead, Arsenal need to be focused on how they can break down the centre back, and they aren’t short of options in doing exactly that.

Theo Walcott is expected to start at the heart of Arsenal’s attack in one last throw of the dice before the transfer window officially shuts on Tuesday.

The speed and agility of the Englishman will throw up trouble for Coloccini, who is quite frankly falling off the pace when it comes to keeping up with the top talent oppositions have to offer.
