Kampl has said he will definitely leave Leverkusen after becoming unhappy at the dismissal of his former manager Roger Schmidt. £25million is likely to be enough to persuade the German club to part with the unhappy 26-year-old. Kampl is a versatile midfielder, he’s very good on the ball and can retain possession in a way that Santi Cazorla can. Like Cazorla, Kampl isn’t great in the air, or in the tackle – they are of a similar ilk. Also like the Spaniard, Kampl can play in several positions, like on the right or on the left – but he definitely favours a central role.
