Arsenal have completed the signing of Granit Xhaka and will now turn their attentions to signing a central defender and striker. Sounds good to me! The defender on the radar is Koulibaly, as per The Telegraph.

Koulibaly has had a very good season at Napoli and his agent has admitted that there are several big clubs looking to sign the Senegalese international.

He is a strong and tall (6ft 4′) defender that is also very good on the ball and this is a rare combination of attributes that Arsenal find attractive. He is what some of the younger generation may call ‘a unit’.

Koulibaly is the perfect age (24) for a defensive signing, old enough to have some top level experience, but young enough to still have his best years ahead of him. Strength is certainly Koulibaly’s best attribute, but he is also a lot faster than you might anticipate for someone of his size – he’s certainly a lot quicker than Per Mertesacker. His size and speed draw immediate comparisons to Elaquim Mangala, but don’t want, he’s a lot more composed and mature than the Manchester City defender.

Chelsea and Manchester United are also big admirers of the players, so Arsenal may have to pay £20millon+ to seal this deal.

Arsenal have also been linked with Matteo Musacchio, Kostas Manolas and Mehdi Benatia as central defensive options. The Gunners are hoping to complete another signing before the start of the Euros.
