Report: Arsenal Bid €60m For Incredible Striker & Manchester United Target

Arsenal have made a €60million (£44.6million) bid for Borussia Dortmund striker Patrick Pierre-Aubameyang, according to Kike Marin from El Confidencial.

The Gunners interest in Aubameyang had been well documented over the last few days, but few sources had claimed an official bid until now.

Marin is a Spanish journalist, who is normally pretty well connected when it comes to Arsenal news, although he did strongly link Arsenal with Karim Benzema in the summer, a move that never came to fruition. That’s not to say that Arsenal didn’t make a bid though..

Marin tweeted on Thursday morning with the news, but did not comment on whether or not Dortmund would accept the bid.

I wouldn’t get too excited about this one, but it is more smoke to a story which keeps developing. Earlier in the week the Gabonese striker missed training, fuelling speculation of a move to the Premier League.

The forward has scored 18 league goals in 17 games this season and has a contract until 2020 in Germany. In the form of his life, it’s hard to believe that the player would want to leave at this stage of the season. Could a potential Premier League title tempt him?

Manchester United have also been heavily linked with a move for the striker, who if he did become available would likely attract interest from many of Europe’s elite clubs, including Real Madrid.
