Young bright light Chamberlain’s Stats Vs. Monaco

It’s a new blow for Arsenal as we Gerrard’d to a 3-1 defeat at Monaco leaving yet another European Quarter Final oppurtunity very much in doubt. However when called upon Oxlade-Chamberlain delivered something for us to celebrate, a splendid goal.

WhoScored Rating – 7.54

Playing as a makeshift Defensive midfielder, his only shot and goal came in the 91st minute having being on from the 67th minute. He attempted 19 passes, with 16 being successful. Despite not being on the field too long he completed 3 out of 4 take-ons, against the likes Kondogbia (69′, 90′)and Fabinho (73′), however was stopped by Almany Toure (89′) in the box as we looked to change the tide around. All 3 of his long balls connected to a teammate. He also tried to thread 1 through ball. 1 clearance.

He had 29 touches of the ball, more than Danny Welbeck (27) who played right from the start. Walcott came 8 minutes before The Ox and didn’t even half the amount of touches Chamberlain had, a mere 11. Ghosts.

Chamberlain did lose the ball in a bad area at the worst time possible which ended hopes of a comeback in the game and arguably the tie altogether, but the player can take great pride, he went from hero to zero within minutes but as his intentions were in the right place and I would start him against Everton on Sunday.
