Wenger Confirms Arsenal Could Complete Two Deals Before Deadline Day

Let’s be honest, the transfer window has been pretty dull for Arsenal fans this season, with only Cohen Bramall to shout about earlier this month.

However, it looks as if the January deals could take another twist after Arsene Wenger confirmed Carl Jenkinson and Mathieu Debuchy’s futures at the club could be over.

During his pre-Southampton press conference it didn’t take long for the media to question any late activity in the market, and it apparently all comes down to the players themselves.

Carl Jenkinson’s £3million switch to Crystal Palace is in the final stages of being completed, but the defender is still to sort out his personal terms.

Debuchy’s case looks a little bit more complicated, with the right-back still unable to find a club that actually want him considering his injury problems.

The Frenchman is ready to go back home to France after playing just 15 minutes in an Arsenal shirt this season, as well as revealing his awkward relationship with Wenger.

It looks as if Wenger made the decision to let both full-back’s go after the success Gabriel has enjoyed following his immediate move to the right side of defence.

With Mertesacker returning to training and Holding sitting in the squad, we’ve got plenty of cover in defence so getting two wage bills off our books will do us wonders.

For many supporters, seeing Jenko leave the Emirates will bring a small tear to their eye but the dream simply hasn’t worked out for the lad, but he’ll continue to live in London.

The 24-year-old could be in a Palace shirt by the start of next week, where he’ll join Sam Allardyce to help boost their relegation fight as he searches for desperate clean sheets.
