Arsenal are being linked with a move for Manchester City’s versatile Oleksandr Zinchenko, but how would he fit in at Arsenal?
In a recent transfer short episode of The Fresh Arsenal Show, PB looked at how Zinchenko could fit into the Arsenal team and how he compares to Tierney and Xhaka in their respective positions. Watch the video below.
Arsenal have struggled for technical quality in the final third from that left central midfield position and this is clearly an area where Zinchenko could provide an improvement.
The Gunners have also struggled at left-back, with Tierney struggling to perform consistently and his injury issues making him unavailable for much of the last couple of seasons. This has proven to be costly for Arsenal in their pursuit of the Europa League in 2020/21 and top four more recently in the 2021/22 campaign. Adding Zinchenko to compete and rotate with Tierney at left-back could help to avoid similar issues moving forward.
Zinchenko is valued at £22.5million on transfermarkt and it is thought that Manchester City would not stand in his way if he were to push for a move away from the club this summer.
