Arsenal fans aren’t usually too caught up in transfer news at this stage in the window, but it seems Arsene Wenger is determined to get his business done early for a change.
And following the Gunners boss making a £20m bid to activate Jamie Vardy’s release clause, supporters have been itching to find out whether or not the striker will be joining the club.
The Leicester City talisman has been holding off the decision ever since his current club reportedly proposed a counter offer of £100,000 a week to stick with the Premier League champions.
Since then we haven’t heard much from the 29-year-old after he decided to take the offers with him to Euro 2016 in the hope of picking up advice from his England teammates.
But now, whilst talking to the press ahead of the Three Lions final group stage game, Vardy may not have provided an answer, but he believes his recent goal shows he’s coping well with the added media attention surround him.
It’s been easy (to shut that out).
I’m here to concentrate and focus on England and that’s all I’m going to be doing and now we’ll just get back on that training field and focus on the next match.
So probably not the update you were all hoping for when first clicking on the link, but his performance on Thursday night showed us that he’s not fazed by this massive ultimatum.
Arsene Wenger has spoke to Chinese TV and hinted that he believes Vardy will now stay at Leicester.
Vardy has a really good chance to be in the starting line-up when England face Slovakia this Monday night, with three points the objective to finish top of Group B.
