Stats. Up for interpretation as always, but these two are pretty impressive, and show why Arsenal fans are praising Mesut Ozil, Theo Walcott and Gabriel Paulista so much recently.
When Olivier Giroud led the line, many blamed that as the reason for Ozil’s lack of productivity. Walcott’s introduction up front has helped Ozil become more influential – and this stat helps prove that.

That’s pretty impressive. It means when both play, we average three goals a game. Considering our lack of goals early in the season, it’s essential this duo play. Â The next amazing stat is that the Gunners are yet to concede a Premier League goal when Gabriel is on the pitch. Although he started the game against Chelsea, he was incorrectly sent off before both of the hosts goals went in. Despite playing 406 Premier League minutes, he has contributed to a defence that didn’t concede at all during those minutes.

Gabriel so far looks a brilliant signing. The 24 year old signed from Villareal in January for around £10million, and although a lot of people didn’t know much about him, the Brazilian has proven to be a top level defender. When Laurent Koscielny returns to fitness, he is likely to partner Gabriel, with Mertesacker missing out.
