4 – Title Challenge Still Alive
This is getting a bit silly now, because week after week the Arsenal fans are struggling to get their heads around how this season could possibly play out.
But ahead of the north London derby every pundit in the country was questioning the leadership qualities in this Arsenal side, but it seems they had an answer.
After going down to 10 men you would expect tradition to prevail and the Gunners to fall under the cosh when it comes to maintaining a sensible strategy.
Remarkably, Wenger decided not to change things around with a substitute after Coquelin walked, and instead stuck with the current crop to re-shape and find some stability.
That allowed the players to settle back into the game, and the introductions 20 minutes later gave us a new way to press on a Spurs side who were beginning to crack.
Although it was only a point picked up today, this performance has told us a lot about how Arsenal can carry on this season.
What might be more important is the fact they’ve held their rivals from gaining top spot, and instead dropping two points and maintaining the three point gap between third and second.
You can’t predict anything in this season, but looking at the run-ins you would have to say Arsenal have a better chance of finishing with a flourish.
