Sagna appears to be adding to the list of unfortunate departures from the squad, but not without putting in a solid season for the gunners. He’s always been a warrior for us, and this season was no different. Never one to shy away, even when things went wrong, he provided reliability and quality at right back. He’s perhaps one the most reliable players in the squad. You see Sagna down the right-hand side, you feel safe; a stark contrast with the left, which has seen player shifts, and inconsistency all season. We never seem to worry about our right flank. That’s down to Sagna. Other than Zabaleta, he’s the best right back in the league, and has been for quite some time. This season has also seen him strike up a fruitful partnership with Giroud, seeing a noticeable improvement in his crossing. It’s real shame he looks set for a departure. I hope fans wish him well. I hope even more that he stays.
