3rd place – Jack Wilshere
September will go down as the month that Jack done something many would have thought impossible at the end of last season – he overtook Aaron Ramsey in Arsenal’s pecking order… arguably.
Okay, so maybe that was a bit of an overstatement. It is unlikely that Wenger would give Wilshere a starting position ahead of Ramsey, but in terms of performances this month – and for the majority of this season – Jack has outshone Aaron in almost every department.
Against Manchester City, the Englishman put in a Man of the Match performance – his slick passing and incredibly composed dribbling helping us slip two goals past Joe Hart, one of which he scored with a delightful chip.
The 22-year-old was one of Arsenal’s only praiseworthy players against Dortmund in Germany, and the youngster put in another decent performance against Spurs two weeks later.
Wilshere seems to have recaptured all of the class and ingenuity that made him such an exciting talent a few years ago. Sadly, Jack was unable to finish higher on this list due to his lack of starts this month. Many of his appearances were from off the bench, and the player wasn’t given the platform to wow us into giving him our player of the month award.
Unlucky, Jack! We hope to see more of you in October.
