4th place – Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
I’ll let you into a little secret – until very recently, I didn’t rate Chambo at all. I thought he’d never make it at Arsenal, and felt he didn’t have the technical ability to cut it in a side whose style relies so heavily on pass and move football. I’m so happy to have been proven wrong.
Alex has shown glimpses of genius this month. His powerful runs and direct dribbling have caused defences numerous problems, and at times he’s reminded me of a young Gareth Bale – if I dare make such a comparison.
His threatening display against Galatasaray goes down as the highlight of the youngster’s month, and with plenty more time to develop; you can expect Oxlade-Chamberlain to improve dramatically as the season progresses. He’s definitely one to watch next month.
