This time last year Arsenal were in crisis and hadn’t signed a player other than Yaya Sanogo on a free transfer. In contrast to this season, where we have made 4 key signings, including a certain player from Barcelona, Alexis Sanchez. Arsenal went into the palace game on the back of another trophy win after defeating the champions 3-0 at Wembley last Saturday.
3. Mathieu Debuchy
The french right back was brought in by Wenger to replace Bacary Sagna and today I thought he was brilliant. He looked much more assured on the ball than Sagna and his crossing is very consistent. Debuchy helped Arsenal to the winning goal, when his shot was superbly blocked by Speroni and followed in by Ramsey. But the Frenchman also helped keep Bolasie quite who is a major threat. He was very strong in the air and impressed me the most out of all the new summer signings.
