Top 10 Arsenal FA Cup Heroes

2. Charlie George: Vs Liverpool, 8th May 1971

“Charlie George who can hit them… ohhhh a great goal” were the famous lines of commentary as George slammed in to give Arsenal the double. The 90 minutes itself were very drab, but after Arsenal had levelled it up a 1-1 in extra time George famously went on to produce this wonderful goal, making it one of the most iconic moments in Arsenal history.

1.Patrick Vieira: Vs Manchester United, 21st May 2005

No one knew it at the time, but this was to be Patrick Vieira’s last game for the club. With his last ever touch in an Arsenal shirt he signed himself into the history books and emphasised his legendary status by tucking away the penalty to give Arsenal their 10th FA Cup triumph.

The game vs Hull will mark Arsenal’s 18th appearance in a FA Cup final, hopefully we can finally end the long wait for a piece of silverware, and who knows maybe a new hero will be born. What was your favourite moment? Comment below.
