8. Reg Lewis: Vs Liverpool, 29th April 1950
Many people probably won’t remember this final, but it was Arsenal’s third FA Cup triumph. Reg Lewis etched his name into Arsenal folklore scoring a brace in a tightly contested match. Lewis was a doubt before the game but Tom Whittaker, the Arsenal manager, took a gamble to play him which definitely came off, and ended Arsenal’s 14 year wait to bring the trophy back to North London.
7. Tony Adams: Vs Tottenham, 4th April 1993
Arsenal were looking for revenge over their arch rivals after famously losing the 1991 semi-final 3-1, to an inspired Paul Gascoigne performance. No one wanted to make up for that 1991 defeat more than Mr.Arsenal himself, Tony Adams. In what was a tense affair Adams famously bulleted a header into the far corner from a Paul Merson free-kick and the rest was history, with Arsenal famously going on to complete a domestic cup double later that year.
