3) Joel Campbell to Lazio
Campbell has been tipped to join several clubs this summer, but it looks like Lazio may win the race to sign him. The Italian side have reportedly launched a £6million bid for the Costa Rican forward, an amount that Arsenal would have to seriously consider. Able to play across the front three, Campbell would be a very good signing for clubs looking to get into Europe and clubs that suit his style of play. Sadly for Joel, Arsenal are too big a club for him right now and his style of play is obviously very different to ours.
He lacks a good first touch or passing range, making it very difficult for him to succeed in a team that dominates most games. I will wish him all the best at his new club but it is definitely right to now sell him and at £6million we would have made a good profit on the youngster.
I think Arsenal may be holding up the potential sale of Campbell until a striker has been signed, to avoid the squad being short of forward options. The likelihood of this deal being completed depends on what happens in Arsenal’s search for a new striker.
