3 – Ricardo Rodriguez
Unlike Rob Holding, this is a man capable of coming straight into the first team and setting the Premier League alight following his form in the Euro’s.
Best friends with Arsenal’s new boy Xhaka, the left-back has been heavily linked with a move to the Gunners over the last two months, with a £21million price tag on his shoulders.
However, despite that inviting transfer sum, Wolfsburg have outlined that his price will only ever go up after his release clause ended at the beginning of July.
He’s certainly an exciting player to watch, and with Kieran Gibbs reportedly heading out of the exit door it will give Nacho Monreal some realistic competition for the full-back role.
In a season where Gibbs made just three Premier League starts, Rodriguez can change that and he’ll be a breath of fresh air when rotating the eleven for cup competitions.
There’s no doubts over whether he’s leaving Wolfsburg, the questions are just where he might end up in the 2016/17 campaign, with Barcelona also interested in his services.
Arsenal look to be leading the chase though, and the 23-year-old has already admitted he would love the move to happen so he could link up with his best friend and roommate Xhaka.
Wenger could be playing his cards close to his chest though, and the closer we get to the start of the season, the more desperate the Bundesliga side will be to get rid of their unhappy man.
Therefore Arsenal could still land Rodriguez on the cheap, but this one could take a little more time to go through with Gibbs’ departure still yet to be confirmed.
