2 – Rob Holding
Much like the signing of Asano this isn’t the mega star that we’re looking for but it does seem to be the likeliest to get completed within the next couple of weeks.
After being named Bolton’s Player of the Year in a dismal campaign, Holding stood as one of the few positives during the clubs relegation to League One football.
The 20-year-old primarily plays in the centre back role and will come in to be another member of the future first team, with a loan spell likely to take place in the Championship.
Arsene Wenger already has Calum Chambers to fill the defensive roles when needed, so Holding will be instructed to pick up as much first team football as possible.
The transfer is expected to cost Arsenal around £1.5million plus add-ons, but it seems Bolton are holding out for at least £5million, and refuse to let their star man leave on the cheap.

During June we reported that new boss Wanderers manager, Phil Parkinson, was already in the hunt for defensive replacements, all but confirming that Holding was heading to the Emirates.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see this deal go through within the next week, but this isn’t likely to be regarded as one of the senior signings that Arsene Wenger revealed he was after.
